Vida has worked in education for almost 25 years, of which nearly 20 have been working directly for, or very closely with, AOs. She has been Deputy CEO at Laser Learning for the past three years, working closely with the CEO on strategy, planning, budget setting, financial management and leadership of the organisation, and she has responsibility for Ofqual regulated, and unregulated, business, including dealing with malpractice investigations, and being Ofqual’s Responsible Officer. With a staff of around 30, LASER is a relatively small AO.
Previous roles include leading the active leisure and learning sector and its 40 AOs through three years of QCF implementation as an SSC senior manager; international management of an AO; running her own international educational training and consultancy business; and running a business college in Africa as principal during its start-up year including securing accreditation by a large UK AO.
Vida has hands-on governance experience from two terms of office on the Council of Management (elected Board of Directors) at the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, with specific responsibility for student matters, and she is currently a Forest School governor. Her knowledge and skills have also benefitted from a wide range of other activities Vida has been involved in over the years, from running the school PTA to volunteering at Samaritans.
Vida has been a regular participant at the FAB Group meetings, particularly Qualifications and Regulation of which she is vice chair.
