14-19 Reform
In 2005 the Government launched its whitepaper on 14-19 education and skills.
Key areas of the reform include:
- new Diplomas being developed by employer that will provide alternative learning styles and progression into higher education and skilled employment
- a strengthening of A levels, GCSEs and Key Stage 3
- the development of IT systems to support the aggregation of data between appropriate stakeholders, and to enable the awarding of the Diploma as a composite qualification.

FAB's 14-19 reform special interest group, Chaired by Paul Steer from OCR lead on the Federations involvement in these areas.
The special interest group meets every six weeks or as required, to review developments and inform policy. The Chair along with other members of the 14-19 special interest group represent FAB on project boards and steering groups in this area as appropriate.
