Information
We have been running a series of QCF introductory workshops since July, as part of the FAB/JCQ QCF Readiness project. We would now like to invite members of your unit-writing team to attend one-day QCF unit writing workshops. The workshops will run from late September to the end of January. More are being planned for next year.
These workshops will be less discursive than the introductory workshops; they will be aimed specifically at helping to develop skills in QCF unit writing. They will start with an outline of the QCF unit model, describing the roles and interrelationships of unit titles, learning outcomes and assessment criteria, and how these components relate to assessment methods and to assessment documentation. They will continue with practical exercises designed to explore these interrelationships, and will ultimately require delegates to develop new learning outcomes and assessment criteria for peer review. The focus throughout will be on how to write learning outcomes and assessment criteria; other aspects of unit development, such as the determination of levels and credit values, will be addressed in this context.
