Background to the World Skills 2011 Education Planning Day
In October 2011 the world’s largest international vocational skills
competition, will come to London. At the ExCeL London Exhibition Centre, WorldSkills London 2011 (www.worldskillslondon2011.com) will bring together up to 1,000 competitors from 51 countries to go head-to-head over four days to find the world leaders in vocational skills.
This unique opportunity is not to be missed. We want to attract as many
young people and adults as possible to attend the WorldSkills Competition and take away experiences of lasting value.
World Skills London 2011 Education Engagement Programme aims to offer, in partnership with key learning providers, awarding bodies and
stakeholders, a coherent and high quality programme of activities which
are accessible to young people in the predominantly 11-19 age range and which support learning, skills and careers development in vocational subjects.
Aim of the World Skills London 2011 Education Planning Day
The aim of the planning day will be to update colleagues on the progress made to date in relation to the development of the education programme. It will also provide colleagues with opportunities to identify and develop the key elements of the World Skills London 2011 Education Engagement Programme which could lead to certification by awarding bodies.
