This conference is hosted by the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales (CQFW) team of the Welsh Assembly Government, Dept of Children Education, Lifelong Learning and Skills, Qualification & Curriculum Division.The Key Note speech will be delivered by the Minister for Children, Education, Lifelong Learning and Skills – Jane Hutt.
The conference will consider the current topics of progression routes and transferability for learners locally, UK-wide and at a European level. It addresses the Frameworks that currently exist within the UK and Europe, the Bologna Process, Lifelong Learning and the Recognition of Prior Learning, Workforce Development and Employer Engagement.
The key speakers include:
- Professor Stephen Adam (University of Westminster; designated UK Bologna Expert and author/rapporteur of research projects associated with the development of Bologna Process).
- Jessica Olley (Acting Manager of the UK HE Europe Unit).
- Peter Treadwell (Dean of Academic Development at University of Wales Institute Cardiff).
- Trevor Clark (Head of Credit & Qualifications Framework for Wales)
Workshop sessions are:
- Centre for Excellence in Learning & Teaching: Taking Learning Out of The University – Using the CQFW for the Progression and Incorporation at HE
- Sector Skills Council – The Developing Role of the SSC’s working with HEI’s
- Widening Participation – The CQFW and Successful Participation in Higher Education
- Foundation Degrees in Wales – Employer Engagement with HEI’s
- European Frameworks – Inter-relationships of the Systems
