Goal 3 of the International Strategy for Further Education in England focuses on maximising the contribution of the Further Education service to overseas trade and inward investment in relation to student recruitment, the creative use of technology for education and training and a range of international collaboration, including ventures in partnership with UK employers. The focus of this event will be the achievement of this goal and the capability of the UK FE/VET sector to offer innovative, client-driven solutions for the international market.
The current downturn in the international economy offers a number of opportunities as well as challenges; it is crucial that all organisations within UK FE, as well as those which support or collaborate with the sector, can work together effectively to realise these opportunities and challenges.
The conference will provide an opportunity for Colleges and other organisations within the sector to discuss key issues relating to international education with DIUS and other government departments. The outcomes of the event will be taken into account in relation to the design of future policy, funding and support programmes.
