DCSF
The Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) was a department of the UK government responsible for issues affecting people in England up to the age of 19, including child protection and education. It's remit was passed to the Department of Education (DfE).
The DCSF14-19 Qualification Strategy (Promoting achievement, valuing success: a strategy for 14-19 qualifications) stated that the long-term intention of DCSF beyond 2013 was to create a streamlined system based on four National Routes:
- GCSE and A-Level;
- Diplomas;
- Apprenticeships; and
- Foundation Learning.
Further information regarding DCSF and the 14-19 Qualifications Strategy is available on the DCSF website.
